I think that the Japanese culture is very different from Western culture when it comes to Sex and these types of clubs. I am in no way knocking the Japanese; they really seem to approach sex in a sort of honourable way, if that makes sense. I find it fascinating, being honest, but the woman in the story muddled fantasy with reality, which ended thankfully without a death.
I just think the Japanese manga culture is very interesting in how it sort of filters into society, or at least it seems to from an outsider looking in.
