Hope this mental block story point is resolved in the next episode, it's a bit anti-climactic.
It’s juts isao number suit that’s take life span (I mean in the finally of season it said the number 2 was a prideful kaiju that keep shot blast of energy until it’s finally breath (basic that kaiju die bc of the force and oversued of electricity
Isao suit weapon number 2 suit (is a kaiju that the shots powerful massive electric blast that take a lot stress of the body(which basically isao has to create electricity to create like a beam of electricity to shot a massive of them which affects his body .

Kikoru Shinomiya is 16 and for anybody saying she’s 18 google is free, and to also add Kafka is 32, Reno is 18, and Mina is 27, Narumi is 27, Hoshina is the only one out of the main core whose age is up for speculation being somewhere between 24-27
Shinomiya is using a numbered weapon. I'm guessing the life shortening aspect is probably linked to how linked you are to the weapon and how much power you use (my theory). Shinomiya was only able to use 46% power level from the suit and they do have limiters most likely to prevent mass destruction as well as protect the user from dipping into the dangerous life shortening level usage. That is my impression anyway. Maybe we get to find out a bit better.
Also, I'm wondering if it is a mental block from Kafka or is the Kaiju inside of him now scared to come out. One reason why I say this, is if you think about when the Kaiju said "I found you." I don't think Kafka was specifically targeted. I think the Kaiju 8 is a symbiotic kaiju and found that kafka was the best fit. He hates and wants to kill Kaiju, but more importantly wants to do it with a partner (Mina). In this they are perfectly mentally sync'ed! Because of the chaos from the 'test'. I think that bond has been broken (technically on both sides). Kaiju 8 was injured by Kafka, and Kafka is scared of losing control. Anyway, that is my theory!

IIRC we saw No.9 talking to his copy/split at the end of last season while he was playing online chess.
They really spared every expense with Kafka's failed transformation animations.
Since the we were doing the AOT comparisons last time, this is another one that could be compared with Eren when he had trouble transforming into his titan form.
I love Narumi, not just for his immaculate fighting skills, power, and sharp mind, but his personality, too. He is such a little punk. I seriously look forward to the reactions when he really starts popping off.
Kikoru Shinomiya is so sick, nice. Her aura is already at the captain level. Her growth and improvement are going to be so awesome to witness.
Someone needs to remind Kafka they make lil pills to help with his uhh performance issues goin on
Kikoru's age has not been explicitly stated. They said that she's a prodigy and graduated from university when she was 16, but it's not clear whether she is still 16 or if some time has passed since her graduation. In the real world JSDF, you need to be at least 18 years old to join, which is why some people are assuming that she's 18, like Reno. But since her father is the Director General of the Defense Force, it's possible that he bent the rules and let her join early, so she might still be 16 or 17.

Gen nurumi's weapon is made from kaiju no 1. The weapon of shinomiya's dad was made from kaiju no 2. Shinomiya's own weapon which is the axe isn't a numbered weapon but a prototype. Same with mina's weapon which is also not a number weapon.
The # weapons are so powerful they do. But signature weapons like Kikoru's greataxe, Mina's Cannon and the vice captain's katana do not.
