China Is Taking Over Anime

As a VTuber who’s been watching anime since the golden age of the 90s, I never thought I’d see the day when Chinese anime—donghua—would rival, or even overtake, Japan in quality. But here we are. In this video, I break down how studios like Big Firebird Cultural, BeDream Studio, and B.CMAY PICTURES are pushing boundaries with stunning animation, emotional storytelling, and next-level production. From fluid fight scenes to deep character arcs, the rise of Chinese animation is real—and it’s reshaping the anime world as we know it. Let’s dive in!

  1. The All Devouring Whale isn't isekai, it's just reincarnation. The reincarnation genre is very popular in china. In fact you could say reincarnation is china's "isekai". They have a lot of stories like being supreme deity then reincarnating to when they were just a high schooler and using all their past knowledge to quickly rise through the ranks and become OP. The Chinese webnovel/donghua space is as old and is even older than anime. They have their own tropes and slop filled genre's. By the time people start watching donghua, they will realize that donghua too isn't perfect and it only feels new and innovative because this is one of your first encounters with it. Not saying they don't have creative ideas but it also has it's flaws. I am not sure if i said it well, too lazy to correct any mistakes i made. Great video btw👍

  2. video quality so good i didnt realize u r a tiiny tiny channel

  3. well did you watch dragon prince its quite good and i loved it

  4. The All Devouring Whale
    Mentioned

  5. Love the video but the last one I think is more reincarnation than isekai.

  6. Now it's donghua's golden age. Anime is becoming mid.
