Love it or hate it, killing god is a time old tradition in Japanese media. Doesn’t matter if its an hour long JRPG or a modern Shonen anime. chances are you’re gonna fight and kill god at one point. But that begs the question, do so many stories from Japan do this. The answer I found goes a lot deeper than you think, and stems from the very complex religious identity that the Japanese have.

The point that you make of Japanese’s people being faithless is spot-on. Here in America the same thing is happening they just pretend to be religious. They go to church on Sunday and by Monday they ignore it.
Not religious but more towards paganism and shamanism but I've walked always from a butt load of anime, but it has nothing to do with religion, its just boring and mundane; anime titles in these decades lmao.
Digi art looks ALL the same, same with the characters. This stuff just looks like regretted titles from others just with changed up stories and there is not anything unique and diverse about the characters.
Man this stuff is just empty calories, oversexed CHILD characters and again predictable.
I miss my 80s and 90s anime no matter what and CGI, can't get any more fake.

Personally, I enjoy mythology, gods or no gods. Record of Lodoss War, Beserk-original portrayed themes of that nature on mature boundaries in a classic way and you can actually take it seriously and the art, style and illustration are dark like a REAL true natural graphic art style.
Anime is not even dark anymore. Its treats violence where clearly it conditions you to not notice or care. It's stupid and overcast. I fear though it's going to desensitize people and well, just feel like you just cannot take it seriously lol.
The graphic anime is better off being Winnie the pool with a butcher knife wearing a pink apron.

Japan is not a mono theism culture. Calling Japan a faithless culture is a big stretch. Christians don't care about that of course. Budhism exists like it or not.

The way you concluded the video was well done. I like how you said that fighting God is the most human thing to do, it reminded me of the biblical story of Jacob where he quite literally fights God. These tales like you said, are humans taking hold of their fate which Jacob does and succeeds in by wresting with an angel for a blessing which he gets.
(Fun fact, he gets named Israel for this which means wrestles with God in Hebrew.)

What a biblical take you have there. Humanity's natural post-fallen state (see Genesis 3) is rebellion against their creator. Human's since eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil have been attempting to define good and evil by their own terms, yet it seems that we can't quite get it right. War, racism, murder, rape, child torture, gaslighting, stealing, cheating, fornication. We can't agree on what is good or bad and we can't even agree on what even counts as the things we think are good or bad.
We rebel to hold on to a flimsy sense of identity that requires that there's something to rebel against. We call others out for being hypocritical, but we're awfully quiet about our own hypocrisy. We purposely delude ourselves and each other so that we have some sense of "self-worth" that's derived from no set of active valuable principles, just declarations and self-affirmations.
To be "human" in the sense that you touch on, is shallow and worthless. It's just another way we've managed to paint a more flattering picture of ourselves as an attempt to attach ourselves to a vague hope that our vain pride is somehow valuable.
Who is this creator of ours and are they just? Are we capable of accurately judging what and who is just? If our creator is just, and we aren't, then what do we rightly deserve for our rebellion? Those ought to be the questions we wrestle with.

I reason that the "gods" in these shows are just mythical beings made for a fictional story. I don't take them too seriously and doesn't bother me all that much. I do get annoyed though once they start naming names and making fun of my religion and other's religions directly, its just disrespectful. I take more offence to Jesus working at a mc donalds in an anime then them killing an unnamed god cause now you are directly mocking and insulting people in the real world. You've crossed the lines of fiction and stepped into people's personal lives. Its almost like if they started making fun of people dying of covid, its too real
